The best seats on the Airbus A320: make your flight comfortable. Airbus A320: characteristics, cabin layout and best seats

All Airbus A320s in the fleet of Rossiya Airlines have the same cabin layout, which is not the case for other types of ships.
In fact, the layout of the A320's cabins follows the layout of the A319, with a few exceptions.

general information

Seat map A320

For general tips on choosing the best locations, read our article.

Business Class

The business class cabin has 3 rows in the bow of the A320. Classic wide armchairs arranged in a 2 x 2 pattern. There are two windows for each seat A or F in a row.

We will not dwell in detail on the description of the business class, because any seat in any row provides comfort in flight.

Economy class

How to choose best places in the A320 cabin and get the most out of the Rossiya Airlines flight?
Economy Class, in this aircraft type, starts at 4 and ends at row 29.

Row 4

If you are not a frequent flyer, it will be useful to know that the best seats in the Airbus A320 are located in the first row of economy class.

An exception is the option when the salon was converted from full economy into eurobusiness + economy.

The seats on the 4th row have increased legroom. In front, instead of a chair with an unpredictable passenger, there is a partition.
The absence of a chair in front of you is a big plus. No one will recline their back, invading personal space. Children will not throw their toys into your lunch.

Lack of queues for the toilet at the nose of the aircraft, because must see in any aircraft are the toilets in the tail. Well, you will be the first to taste the full range of food served, fresh and hot.
Passengers in seats A and F have two windows at their disposal - twice as many landscapes outside the window, one might say.

Rows 5-8
The seat pitch in these rows is standard. This block of seats has the advantages of the forward section of the passenger compartment as described above.
Except for the 8th row. The view from the porthole can be partially obscured by the leading edge of the wing and the aircraft engine. Increased noise is also possible during the flight.

Rows 9-11
Seats in both rows are above the wing. Seats 9A and 9F have a partial view from the porthole. From the inconvenience of the 9th row - increased noise from the engine is possible.
The wing section is a low noise zone. The aircraft engine completely covers the wing and cuts out noise to this part of the cabin.

Tickets for Rossiya Airlines flights can be purchased On this site.

Row 12
Emergency row with increased legroom in seats B, C, D, E. Please note that legroom is standard in the seats next to the windows.

Rows 13-16
All the advantages and disadvantages of over-wing seats are described above.

Row 17
To the disadvantages of seats, I will attribute the trailing edge of the wing that partially obscures the view and the increased noise from the engine in flight.

Row 18-28
If you want to be in the thick of things, if you like crowds of people - you are in the back of the cabin.
The parameters of the seats here are no different from the seats in the bow of the A320, just keep in mind. The closer to the tail your seat will be, the more often you will contemplate the queue of the suffering people to get into the toilet rooms, which, in anticipation, will lean on the back of the chairs by the aisle, create increased noise from conversations.

Medium-haul jet aircraft capable of taking on board up to 180 passengers and transporting them up to 6,150 km.

The Airbus A320 was developed in the mid 80s and contained many innovative solutions. For example, the A320 became the world's first passenger aircraft with a Fly-By-Wire fly-by-wire control system (previously only used on fighters). The cockpit was fitted with side sticks instead of conventional steering wheels. Instead of outdated dial gauges, displays were installed in the cockpit, which display flight parameters. The flight engineer's seat was replaced by computers that calculate all the necessary flight data and also control the work of the crew. Also, for the first time in the design, composite materials were used to lighten the weight of the aircraft.

The Airbus A320 made its first flight in February 1987. Commercial operation of the liner began in March 1988.

Compared to other airliners of similar size, the A320 series is characterized by a spacious passenger compartment with large shelves for carry-on luggage, large cargo capacity of the lower (cargo) deck and wide hatches for loading luggage.

More than two decades have passed since the appearance of the A320, but the aircraft is constantly being modernized in accordance with the requirements of the time. Airbus is currently offering a new modification of the A320neo with more powerful and efficient engines, as well as an improved wing design.

The main competitor of the liner is.

The Airbus A320 is one of the best narrow-body aircraft of all Airbus products. This company produces liners of high quality and comfort, Airbus aircraft are economical on short and medium-haul routes.

The Airbus A320 made its first flight in 1987 and immediately gained recognition in the world civil aviation... This aircraft can carry from 150 to 180 people. In the first case, the business class seats are 2 + 2, and in the economy class - 3 + 3. To understand which seats are considered the best on the plane, you need to familiarize yourself with the seating chart.

Aeroflot actively uses Airbuses in its fleet. The total number of these aircraft reaches 67 units. We will now consider the location of seats on the Airbus 320.

The cabin layout of the Airbus A320 has several options. Each of them does not prejudice the comfort of passengers. The following options are available:

  • quadruple (business class);
  • five-seater;
  • six-seater.

The picture shows the location of the seats and the width of the aisles.

As with all airplanes, the head of the vessel houses the business class seats. In the Airbus A320, this is row 1-5. The step between the rows is small, but this is enough to make the passengers feel comfortable. Some features of the first row are worth noting:

  • in front of the passenger on the wall there is an attachment for a cradle;
  • the passenger in the first row may not worry that the back of the seat in front of him will be thrown back on him;
  • at the same time, there is no footrest in the first rows, as in the passengers of the next rows.

Numbering of seats on Airbus A320 Aeroflot

We invite you to study the numbering of seats for passengers who are going to fly by Airbus A320, the layout of the cabin is also posted on the Internet.

There are both bad and better seats on the plane. Aeroflot provides layouts of the aircraft cabin in the free Internet access. There are also standard places, being on them, there are no advantages or negative points.

The figure above shows a diagram of the Airbus A320, Aeroflot allows you to choose if you want suitable places on one's own.

The best seats in the Airbus A320

The best seats on the plane are considered to be the sixth, ninth (with remarks), and also the tenth row. Concerning sixth row, then here you can not be afraid:

  • backs reclined in front;
  • you will receive your food first, because the distribution of food comes from you;
  • there are mounts for cradles, it is convenient when flying with children.

Of the negative aspects, one can single out limited space for outstretched legs; not everyone is comfortable looking all the way into a blank wall.

In the ninth row the backs, unfortunately, do not recline, but there is free legroom. You can easily miss your neighbors without getting up. Tenth row, seats A and F slightly sloped due to the emergency exit, while the legs are larger than usual, the backrests also recline as standard.

The most comfortable and best seats on the Aeroflot A320 economy class are in the tenth row B, C, D, and E.

There is a lot of room for outstretched legs due to the close proximity to the emergency exit, the seats can be reclined calmly, the seats are not sloped, like A and F. There is only one limitation - you cannot put carry-on luggage in the legs. Only this moment can hardly upset passengers in these places.

Remember passengers with children, the elderly and people with disabilities will not be put on rows 9 and 10, emergency exits must be mobile in case of emergency.

This model of airliners is produced by the Airbus Aircraft Association. The improved design incorporates a fairly large number of technical innovations. This aircraft was the first passenger aircraft in the world to use a remote control system. Now, instead of the usual controls, pilots use side grips. Many metal parts have been replaced by composite products.

Airbus A320 Aeroflot

Despite the unique characteristics of the A320, its design continues to improve. The most recent innovation is the wingtips. These curves are designed to reduce fuel consumption.

Unique parameters

The initial version of the liners was produced in not large quantities, but after the development of an improved model, the production of aircraft increased to 40 aircraft per month. In addition to the upward-curved ends of the wings, the fuel tanks were also upgraded, significantly increasing their volume. Now they can hold 29.8 tons of aviation kerosene.

The main characteristics of the device are as follows:

  • Height - 11.8 meters.
  • Length - 37.6 meters.
  • The wingspan is 34.1 meters.
  • The Airbus 320 weighs 77 tons. It with full tanks fuel.
  • The flight altitude is 11.9 km.
  • The maximum speed is 900 km / h.
  • The range is over 5000 km.
  • Takeoff run - 2 km.

The number of seats in the cabin for ordinary passengers is 180, and in the case of the layout of the cabin with business class seats, the capacity of the Airbus A320 without pilots is 150 people.

In the project of this model, the developers have made many technical innovations. The aircraft became the first passenger airliner with a fly-by-wire control system. Its advantages lie in the automatic control of many parameters of the aircraft. In particular, the given program does not allow overload, and also reacts to the power of the crosswind. Any discrepancies, pilots are prompted by onboard digital electronics supplied by French manufacturers.

It instantly copes with flight and navigation information, instantly processing data related to the operation of onboard systems. Timely warning of pilots about failures greatly facilitates the work of pilots. All electronic equipment meets international standards.

The picture from the cameras is transmitted directly to the monitors

One powerful turbojet engine is installed on each wing. Regardless of the model, the motors are installed different. The serial number of the modification depends on their types.

Modernization of the airliner A320

Today, Airbus engineers and designers are improving this aircraft, which was named: "A320neo". This is the next step in the modernization of this model. A large number of composite elements will be added: fiberglass and carbon fiber reinforced plastic. A honeycomb core is also used.

The aircraft development program includes the following changes: weight reduction of the entire structure, improved interior design, increased luggage compartment.

The bulk of the wing mechanization is made from heterogeneous artificial materials. These are spoiler panels, nose cone, slats, flaps and more. The vertical tail is fully composite. A material consists of two or more components. Each of them is separated by a clear border. In most composites, the components are divided into a matrix and its constituent reinforcing elements. They are designed to improve mechanical performance. The front part of the horizontal stabilizer is also made of composite.

The upgraded model will be equipped with new efficient engines. The emission of harmful substances and the noise level will be significantly reduced. Fuel consumption will be reduced by up to 15%. The wings will also be improved. The tips will now resemble shark fins. According to the calculations of the developers, it is precisely such designs that affect the reduction in fuel consumption. Thanks to all the innovations, the flight range will increase by almost 1000 kilometers.

Peculiarities

Compared to other liners of similar dimensions, the A320 has a fairly large passenger compartment, equipped with wide shelves that can accommodate a large amount of carry-on luggage. A huge cargo compartment and extended hatches for loading luggage stand out noticeably here. All these and other changes were made by the company's developers after 2000.

The cladding panels were replaced in the salons. Passengers will now be able to easily accommodate hand luggage 10% more than before. Individual LED lighting has appeared above each chair. The main light in the passenger compartment can be adjusted as required. Obsolete cathode ray monitors have been replaced by LCD displays.

In addition to electronics, the developers have worked on many mechanisms, significantly improving their performance. All this contributed to the reduction in the cost of maintenance.

Another feature of the A320 model is the cockpit, improved in terms of technical equipment. Now any information concerning auxiliary systems, as well as aircraft engines, its flight position and other parameters, is displayed on several displays that occupy the main part of the dashboard.

Thanks to the side control sticks, the work of the pilots has been greatly simplified. These joysticks are not directly connected to the planes. Any movement of the levers is processed by a computer, after which the information is transmitted to the drives, the work of which is based on hydraulics. The high level of automation made it possible to limit the number of crew members to two pilots, and also significantly increased passenger comfort and flight safety.

The official development of the A320 aircraft model started in 1984. The car took off for the first time three years later. Despite this, the liner was not decommissioned, but is constantly being modernized. This is dictated by the requirements of the time. In particular, the developers are somewhat reducing the passenger space, thereby increasing the number of seats.

As for the production lines, they are open in many countries of the world. More recently, an airliner assembly plant in China began producing 4 aircraft per month.

At the 2011 Le Bourget Air Show, this model was in high demand. Thanks to this, the management of the Airbus concern received several large orders from leasing and even budget organizations. In total, the aircraft building association received 667 orders, which undertook to deliver 1,029 A320 aircraft to customers. All orders totaled nearly $ 70 billion. This indicator made the airliner the most demanded in the world.

Airbus A320 - family narrow-body aircraft for short and medium-haul airlines developed by the European consortium Airbus S.A.S.

The Airbus A320 is the world's first passenger aircraft with a fly-by-wire control system (EDSU), a cockpit equipped with side control sticks instead of conventional steering columns, and a horizontal tail made entirely of composite materials.

The Airbus A320 is equipped with an EFIS digital avionics complex manufactured by the French company THOMSON-CSF, consisting of six color multifunctional displays for displaying flight and navigation information, as well as data on the operation of on-board systems and warnings about failures. All avionics are ARINC 700 compliant.

A characteristic external feature of the Airbus A320 is a slightly sloping front landing gear.

Compared to other airliners of similar dimensions, the A320 series features a spacious passenger compartment with large carry-on bins, large cargo capacity on the lower (cargo) deck and wide hatches for loading baggage.

The Airbus A320 has one central aisle, four passenger entrances and four emergency exits. V cargo hold can fit seven AKH containers - three in the front, four in the back.

The A320 is the base model of Airbus' medium-haul aircraft family, which also includes the A318, A319, A321 models.

The first Airbus A320 went on the air lines in 1988. Since then, the aircraft has been produced in large quantities, sometimes reaching record production rates for the civil aircraft industry (more than 40 aircraft per month). Currently, more than 2,000 Airbus A320s have been built, and the number of orders has exceeded 4,000.

Better and less comfortable seats on the Airbus A320

Better and less comfortable seats on the Airbus A320 of S7 Airlines

1 row business class- the seats are near the partition, respectively, it will be in front of your eyes for the entire flight. The baffle is not too close, so there is plenty of legroom.

3 row- very similar to the first, but the partition is much closer, so the legs will not be so comfortable, besides, the class of seats is economic. Since there are no chairs in front, the tables are fixed to the armrests and cannot be lifted.

The advantage of these seats is that there are no passengers in front, therefore, there is a guarantee that the back will not be tilted in front of you and the space for the knees will not be reduced.

Backs of armchairs 9tha number of have restrictions when reclining, sometimes not recline at all, since there are emergency exits behind them.

Places in 10 row y have the same disadvantages as places in 9, but their advantage is that the distance to the previous row is increased.

Rows 9 and 10 are not allowed accommodate passengers with children, people with disabilities, as well as block the passage to the emergency exit. All luggage must be stowed away in the overhead carry-on baggage compartment.

11 row the best. Chairs recline, there is enough free legroom, there are no toilets or technical rooms nearby. But here it is also not allowed to obstruct the passage to the emergency exit.

And here seats A and F in this row, those located directly at the escape hatches are slightly worse. The seats are much narrower than standard ones and they can be deployed slightly inside the cabin. Typically, these chairs lack one armrest.

Seats 26 in row C and D located near the aisle and toilets, which is not the most comfortable condition.

Seats in the 27th row(last row) the least comfortable. The backs of the chairs are fixed, there are toilets nearby. However, if the flight is not fully loaded, the last rows may be completely free. While traveling, you can sleep comfortably in all three chairs.

Better and less comfortable seats on the Airbus A320 of Aeroflot

1-5 rowsbusiness class. The first row is different from the others:
  • The chairs have a large tilt angle, but there will be no chairs in front of you, so you don't have to be afraid that someone might recline their backs.
  • In business class, they rarely fly with small children, but each cabin is equipped with attachments for baby bassinets, which are located on the wall in front of the first row.
  • There are no special leg mounts.
Seats in the 6th row are located in front of the partition, so it occupies the entire overview, but no one can recline their chair on you. The distance for the legs is small. Each wall is equipped with cradles for cradles. This row is the first to receive food, since service begins with it.

8 row it loses a lot to other economy-class seats, since the backs do not recline. But the advantage is that these locations are closer to the emergency exits than others.

9 row also has the disadvantage of reclining the backs of the seats, but this is successfully compensated by the large distance between the rows. This convenience allows you to sit comfortably and, if necessary, stretch your legs. Also, if any of the neighbors decides to get up, he can pass without disturbing you. End locations A and F lose a little to the central C, D, B, E, as they can be slightly skewed due to the proximity to the emergency hatch.

Extreme locations 10A and 10F also a little crooked, because they are close to emergency exits, but their backs recline easily, and there is a lot of legroom between the rows.

Best Economy Class Seats are situated in 10 row (B, C, D, E)... Passenger comfort is achieved due to the increased legroom (due to the proximity of all the same emergency exits), while the backs of the seats can be easily reclined. However, if you are carrying carry-on baggage, it should not be placed under the seats or at the legs, as this can make it difficult to access the escape hatches.

9 and 10 rows not accessible to the elderly, people with disabilities and passengers with children.

Aisle seats in row 24 not comfort due to the proximity of toilets.

Seats 25 row are considered the most uncomfortable in the airplane. They are located right next to the toilets and there is no possibility of reclining the back of some chairs. Places in this row should be taken last.

Other places are standard for aircraft of this class and do not have pronounced advantages or disadvantages in the convenience of the flight.

The final assembly of the Airbus A 320 family aircraft is carried out at four sites: in Toulouse (France), Hamburg (Germany), Tianjin (China) and Mobile (USA). Toulouse is responsible for the final assembly of the A 320, Hamburg for the A 318, A 319, A 320 and A 321, Tianjin for the A 319 and A 320, and the A 319, A 320 and A 321 are assembled on the Mobile assembly line.
