Experienced spinning angler catches fish, inexperienced - himself, spinning for beginners

Let's say you decide to start fishing with a spinning rod, but you have no experience in this matter, you have never taken it in hand before. Naturally, you have to start somewhere. Fishing with a spinning rod will not do without buying the blank itself, a reel, a cord or fishing line, a set of baits. Then the spinning rod must be properly equipped.

Training in spinning fishing, in addition to getting to know the tackle, will include the study of casting techniques and the most common harnesses.

If you are a beginner, then for sure at the very beginning of acquaintance with this tackle, you will not be able to feel the difference in the structure of the spinning rod. Therefore, do not fool yourself and do not delve into this parameter. The simplest inexpensive rod will be enough to learn how to fish.

It is best to first purchase a tackle that would allow you to use it for various fishing methods. You will be able to talk about the advantages of blank, build, test only after fishing with different rods and learning how to compare. For the same reasons, you should not buy expensive gear right away.

Look at the video what parameters the blank and the spinning reel have.

Spinning equipment

First of all, you need to prepare and assemble the rod you bought. The most important thing when assembling is that the knees of the spinning rod fit snugly together. The rod should not fall apart when casting.

If you have an inexpensive spinning rod, check your knees before fishing. If the connection is weak, wind up the thread on the knee plug to make the second knee sit more firmly.

The next step is to install the coil. The inertia-free reel is located at the bottom of the rod. The reel handle can be installed on the left or right, for left and right handers.

Line winding

It is worth paying attention to the correct winding of the fishing line. Do not wind the line directly onto the reel. With this winding, it will curl into a spiral and become entangled. We wind the line only through the unfolded rod. This is done in this sequence:

  • Prepare and assemble the rod.
  • The line is passed through the rings starting from the tulip.
  • The bow of the line guide is retracted on the reel.
  • The end of the line is tied.
  • The bail is closed.

To wind the line properly, you need to create tension. To do this, place the bobbin with the fishing line on a nail, pencil, and so on, and involve someone to help hold and pull. It is important to wind it so that there is still 1-2 mm to the edge of the spool.

It so happens that there is little fishing line and it has not filled the entire spool, then an additional old fishing line or line must be reeled under this fishing line. This additional rewinding is called backing.

Watch the video on how to properly wind the line on the spool:

In shops there are machines for winding fishing line. You can do this when purchasing a coil. But when winding fishing line on an iron spool in a store, make sure that the seller does not accidentally scratch it. Any scratch will rust and damage the spool.

The next thing to attach is a bait, leash, or swivel. A leash is usually used. If you are not catching pike, but other fish, then the leash may not be tied. The use of swivel fasteners is also controversial.

The tackle will be more sensitive if you use the bait directly and then simply cut off some of the line when changing the bait. Swivels reduce sensitivity, but if you decide to use them, then you need to cook the smallest ones.

Often, to increase the casting distance, an additional weight is tied in front of the bait. Usually the distance between the bait and the additional weight is set at about one meter.

Wiring technique

There is a rule that applies to beginners in any field of activity, they are always lucky! But as you know, luck alone is not enough, you still need to have a certain amount of knowledge and experience. After all, no matter how you are theoretically savvy, only repeated practical mastering of this or that technique leads to a positive result.

The training must begin with the wiring technique. Fishing with different lures and different fish will be with different guidance.

Fishing with oscillating and spinning lures is a classic spinning rod. For beginners, acquaintance with spinning, lures will be enough as bait. Only then, having mastered the technique of casting and wiring, having fallen ill with this type of fishing, you can acquire other baits and try something new.

The bait can be different

You will need a lot of spinning lures, taking into account the fact that they will remain in the snag. Therefore, it is important for beginners to learn how to get rid of the hooks without losing the bait. If you are fishing on the river, first release the line so that it is carried away a little by the current, then try to pull and release the hook.

In order for unexpected technical moments not to cause trouble on fishing, take with you tools that will help you cut off the fishing line or cord, for example, wire cutters, and to pull the hook out of the mouth of the fish - a yawner.

If fishing takes place in small rivers, then do not rush to throw to a depth, in such reservoirs the fish can stand near the shore.

Jig fishing

Jig fishing is the easiest spinning method. For this, jig heads are used. (Another option is the "Cheburashka" sinker and additional silicone baits attached to the hook). We make a cast. After the bait reaches the bottom, we turn the coil, slightly raise the bait above the bottom and lower it down again.

It turns out stepped wiring. The fact that the bait has reached the bottom will be signaled to us by a sensitive tip, it will stand straight, without bending, and the line will cease to be stretched and sag.

Get ready for the fact that the bottom of the reservoir is filled with various branches, snags and other objects that will constantly cling to your bait, this will not bring much pleasure.

Twitching

Another type of fishing is twitching, which is fishing with wobblers. If jig fishing is carried out at the bottom, then twitching will be at your fingertips. You will be able to see for yourself how the fish will grab your bait.

Twitching is a line that consists of long or short jerks. Fishing technique consists in twitching with a spinning rod and small pauses between jerks. The bait must move. In twitching, baits are used, called poppers, wobblers, minou.

Your catch will directly depend on how realistically you can represent the bait and convey to it movements similar to its counterparts. So for beginners, mastering the technique of moving the bait, these are the very first lessons.

In the video, see what are the postings for wobblers:

There is usually no rush with a sweep. Everything has to happen on time.

From the boat

There are some more nuances that should be considered if you start fishing Fishing from a boat opens up great prospects for beginners.

  • First, there is water all around and you won't miss if you throw.
  • Secondly, there are more fish accumulations at depth than near the coast, so fishing from a boat can be more successful.
  • Thirdly, large baits from the boat can catch good specimens. The peculiarities in the spinning rig are as follows: in order to achieve "blank unloading" when fishing from a boat, the rod must have more guide rings.

These beginner tutorials will help you get started with the tackle. I am sure that it will give you an unforgettable experience.

Folk omen: When you come to the place of fishing, you need to say hello to the reservoir or say the cherished word, some read a prayer. Very good for fish biting!
